Father Nicholas
Dahdal was born to Niqula and Badea Dahdal in Jerusalem in 1950. He graduated as valedictorian from Ramallah Academy in 1968, after which he took a special course on teaching at Birzeit University. He then taught at the Greek Orthodox School in Ramallah for three years. Father Dahdal emigrated to America, where he received his BA degree from St. Vladimir Seminary in 1975 and received an MA in Theological Studies in 1977. He was ordained as deacon at St. George Orthodox Church, Washington DC in the same year, and closely following that, was ordained as a priest at St. Mary Orthodox Church of Yonkers by His Eminence Metropolitan Elia of Hama, Syria.

From 1977 to 1986, Father Dahdal served as the pastor of St. George Orthodox Church in Jacksonville, Florida where his parish increased from 60 families to 250 families. During this time, he also served as Dean of the Southeast parishes. From 1986 to November 2018, Father Dahdal served as the pastor of St. George Orthodox Church in Cicero, Il and was also the Dean of the Central States during that time. He was involved in several projects during his tenure including adding a new school building, establishing a leading Orthodox bookstore, and attracting thousands of people to venerate the Icon of the Virgin Mary Weeping. He was involved in the Orthodox Chicago Clergy Association and led the organization for over fifteen years. St. George Church suffered a devastating fire in 1997, and he oversaw its rebuilding and expansion.

 In 2014, Father Dahdal was decorated with the Antonian Gold Medal by Metropolitan PHILIP, a medal reserved for outstanding church leaders, and in 2017, he chaired the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the presence of Orthodoxy in the Chicago land area. Father Dahdal is also involved health matters for the youth, and he helped bring awareness to young Orthodox in the Chicago area about the dangers of smoking, particularly hooka smoking. He is on the board of directors of numerous religious and civil organizations.

 Father Dahdal hails from a priestly family and he loves the church. Under his pastorate at St. George, he influenced 10 men to become priests in the Antiochian Church.
