The Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace (PCAP) is well positioned among American churches and church bodies to educate and influence attitudes and actions toward Palestine and Israel from a Palestinian perspective.

Our history began with a request from the United Methodist Kairos Response Group for our help as Palestinian Christians in their efforts to move the United Methodist Church to divest from corporations that profit from the Israeli occupation. Since then we have been invited to work with Baptists, Catholics, Episcopalians, Mennonites, Methodists, Presbyterians, the United Church of Christ, and others. The invitations we are receiving exceed our capacity to meet them, since our group is small and we are all volunteers.

Nonetheless, we have built a solid foundation for PCAP by organizing a board of directors, acquiring a 501(c)3 designation, establishing a bank account, creating a Facebook page, and developing a variety of presentations to church groups. With your encouragement and financial support, we are now ready to build a more robust, responsive, and self-sustaining organization.

We, like Palestinians all over the world, were energized by the historic vote of the Presbyterian Church USA to pass divestment and boycott resolutions in 2014 – an action that immediately made front-page news in the mainstream media and truly shook the Israeli power establishment and its allies. Already, we see that Israel and pro-Israeli organizations in the United States are waging a concerted campaign to reverse this major victory for those seeking peace and justice in the Holy Land. We believe it is crucial for us to protect this victory and push it further by supporting our allies in other major U.S. churches, where our allies are working diligently to pass similar resolutions in 2015 and 2016.
